This R80ST came with no right exhaust header or collector box. I decided to replace the entire exhaust system as the rear muffler and left header had a fair amount of rust.
Here is the new exhaust system installed. I’ll install the muffler heat shield when I get the side panels back from the painter.
This is a link to the documentation and a short YouTube video summary of how I do this work.

Hi Brook,
Thank you so much for your informative videos- I have been slowly rebuilding a 1978 r100rs which was seriously neglected and your shared wisdom has been invaluable! I had a question about the brembo stiffening ring and rubber seal which inserts onto the piston of the rear brake. It seems to follow the piston rather the finding a seat, which makes me think there is a risk it will fall out. Is this normal? I know the brake has a maximum extension which may mitigate the risk. What is the purpose of the seal- is it just designed to stop dirt getting in or does it keep brake fluid from coming out? Thanks so much
George,
The round, square profile, seal keeps brake fluid in the caliper and also returns the puck when brake pressure is removed. The square seal deforms as the puck moves out and then goes back to normal when the pressure is removed. The dust seal around the puck keeps dirt and water out of the brake system.
Best.
Brook.
